This innovative coupling design combines affordability, reliability, and a quick, time-saving installation process. Each barbed ring acts as an independent, full-circle seal, offering double protection against air leakage at the connection.
The precisely cut barbs grip the duct material, creating a connection that provides superior sealing on both the internal and external sides, along with exceptional pull-out strength. The sealing and tensile performance of the couplings actually improves as the internal air pressure in the duct rises during cable placement.
As a compression-type fitting, the coupling must be pushed onto the conduit with enough force to allow the barbs to securely latch onto the duct. This requires the use of a hydraulic coupling press. The mechanically-assisted installation ensures each coupling is properly installed, further enhancing the overall reliability of every connection.
Aluminum Barbed Coupler (1.900/1-1/2")
Aluminum couplers should not be used under these conditions:
- In environments with high moisture or when submerged in water.
- In areas with strong acids or alkalis, outside the pH range of 4 to 8.
- In proximity to saltwater or exposed to runoff from road salt.
- When embedded in concrete or cement-stabilized sand.
